Here are what I'm calling my lessons learned (LL), they are taken from the various battles and I think are important points to consider when playing:

Zenith Rule (thanks Jerry)!
Do your best to ensure your opponent is having as much fun as you are.

Flames of War v4
1. Single gun batteries are the same as two gun batteries
2. You can target the ground to make sure you hit the most enemy models

Team Yankee
1. Aircraft die when they are shot down and don't come back, place them wisely
2. Big platoons are better for heavy lifting you only need 2 teams near the platoon commander to be in good spirits.
3. When playing Team Yankee, play Team Yankee and not Flames of War with Team Yankee models.
4. Spearhead allows you to expand your deployment to allow follow on forces to deploy into more favourable positions
5. Strike Aircraft come in on 4+ not the FoW 5+
6. Infantry teams inside of transports get their 3+ save not a 5+ save

Flames of War v3
1.  Always pin before an assault
2.  Always assault with the platoon over half strength before the one under half strength
3.  Selection of platoons to be deployed is critical, you can roll company moral the first turn
4.  Build your army list with the missions and deployments in mind
5.  Use Recce to lift gone to ground
6.  Pioneer Supply Vehicles are massive force multipliers
7.  When selecting an Army/deployment don't force company moral when you lose a platoon
8.  In v3 rules planes only have 1 chance to range in
9. Remember when the objectives go live
10. When sighting your defence make sure your HMGs and AT guns are within 8`` of the front teams so you can fire in defensive fire
11. Make sure you have a plan to deal with obstacles
12. Don't spread your army evenly across the frontage of the deployment area, concentrate your force to allow for local superiority.
13. When fighting at night or in fog anyone that shoots can be seen by everyone in the opposing army.
